Brooke Shields pulls out of stage show Leap Of Faith?
Brooke Shields has pulled out of stage show Leap Of Faith as theater bosses prepare to move the production to New York.
The Lipstick Jungle actress who played Marva in the play, an adaptation of Steve Martin‘s movie of the same name, when it premiered in Los Angeles last year and was scheduled to take on the role when it heads to Broadway.
But the star has exited the project due to other film and television commitments.
“I’m very disappointed that I’m not able to continue my association with this project,” she said in a statement.
“Being a part of Leap of Faith’s world premiere was an absolutely thrilling experience. I wish the producers and creative team much success as they prepare to bring this wonderful show to New York.”
Shields who is currently appearing in The Addams Family musical in the Big Apple recently insisted she won’t let her children act until they are older.
The 45-year-old actress shot to fame aged just 12 playing a child prostitute in Pretty Baby but doesn’t want her daughters Rowan, seven, and Grier, four, to follow in her footsteps because she isn’t prepared to sacrifice her own career.
“I would never start them as young as I did. For a start, my life isn’t conducive to that. Selfishly, I wouldn’t give up on my career to work on theirs,” she said.
However, Brooke will support her daughters whose father is her screenwriter husband Chris Henchy, 46 if they want to embark on an acting career once they have finished school.
“If, when they have finished their education, they want to do it, I will do whatever I can to help them,” she said.
